It is important to review these terms attentively before making a reservation. By securing a yacht reservation with OpenInformationHub, you are confirming your acceptance of the refund terms outlined here.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Complete refund excluding service charges
Processing Time: 5-7 business days
Processing Fee: €50 for transactions via credit card
Conditions: Requests need to be submitted in written form through email or over the phone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Half the total cost of the yacht charter
Processing Time: 7-10 business days
Processing Fee: €25 will be subtracted from the refunded amount
Conditions: A legitimate reason is necessary; admin costs will be incurred
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Refunds are not available
Exception: Exceptions for urgent circumstances may be reviewed
Alternative: Voucher for a future charter could be offered at the discretion of the management
Conditions: Supporting documents are required to prove emergency cases
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
Your safety is our primary concern. Should our licensed captain determine that weather conditions are unsafe for charter services, we provide a range of flexible alternatives:
- Full Refund: A complete refund is available if rebooking is not an option
- Reschedule: Transfer your charter to an alternative date without incurring extra charges
- Charter Credit: Obtain a credit that remains valid for one year from the initial charter date
Weather Assessment Process
Our process for evaluating weather includes:
- Evaluating wind speed and direction
- Assessing wave heights and ocean conditions
- Forecasting visibility and precipitation levels
- Monitoring Coast Guard bulletins and alerts
- Conducting a safety assessment by our professional captain
Decision Timeline: Decisions regarding weather-related cancellations are confirmed at least 4 hours before the planned departure time.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Emergency Circumstances
We recognize that sudden medical emergencies can arise. Instances that may be eligible for special refund consideration include:
- Unexpected illness or injury necessitating hospital care
- Passing of a family member
- Urgent military service or recall
- Summons for jury service or a legal subpoena
- Natural catastrophes impacting travel
Documentation Requirements
For processing refunds due to emergencies, the following proofs are required:
- Hospital documentation or a medical note
- Death notification, if relevant
- Confirmation of military orders
- Legal summons or notice for jury service
- Emergency travel advisories or declarations
Processing: Refunds for emergencies are managed within 3-5 working days upon submission of the necessary documents.
Operational Cancellations
Mechanical Issues
Should the assigned boat experience irreparable mechanical faults:
- Alternative Vessel: Efforts will be made to provide a similar replacement
- Full Refund: Granted when no adequate substitute is found
- Partial Refund: Offered when the substitute vessel has a different price
- Compensation: Additional recompense may be considered for the inconvenience caused
Crew Unavailability
In the uncommon event that a certified crew is not available:
- A replacement crew will be sought if feasible
- A complete refund if the charter is unable to proceed
- An option to reschedule without extra charges
Refund Processing
Payment Method
Refunds will be returned via the payment method originally used for the booking:
- Credit Cards: 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: 3-5 business days

€50 charge for cancellations before 72 hours
Bank Transfer Processing
€25 cost for refunding via bank transfer
International Processing
Extra charges may be imposed on international refunds
Charter Credits
When Credits Are Offered
Charter credits might be available instead of refunds under certain situations:
- Last-minute cancellations (under 24 hours)
- Cancellations due to weather conditions
- Voluntary changes in booking dates
- Unexpected operational hurdles
Credit Terms
- Validity: Usable for 12 months from the date of issuance
- Transferability: Credits cannot be transferred to other individuals
- Value: Reflects the entire value of the charter without deductions for processing
- Usage: Applicable to any available charter options
- Expiration: Credits expire after 12 months with no possibility of extension
Partial Service Refunds
Service Interruptions
In the event that your rental is disrupted or cut short due to factors under our control:
- Partial refund reflecting the unused portion
- A voucher for a future rental with the same value
- Additional complimentary services or enhancements
Guest-Related Interruptions
Should a rental be concluded prematurely due to actions of the guests or breaches of safety:
- Non-refundable for the remaining time
- Complete payment is still expected
- Extra fees may be incurred
Dispute Resolution
In case of disagreement with a refund determination, you can:
- Ask for a reconsideration by our overseeing team
- Submit further documents or proof
- Request intervention from consumer advocacy groups
- Explore legal avenues as per the law

Your refund claim should comprise of:
- Reservation confirmation code
- Details of the rental, including date and time

Step 3: Review and Execution
We will confirm receipt of your request within one business day, assess it according to our guidelines, communicate a verdict within two business days, and if approved, execute the refund within our declared time periods.
Important Notes
- All requests for refunds must be in written format
- Refunds are issued in € regardless of the currency initially used for payment
- Purchasing travel insurance is highly advised
- This refund procedure can be amended given a notice period of 30 days
- Refunds may be subject to the relevant taxes and legislations
